Our Story
My foundation is in apparel — years spent understanding how well-made garments should come together, feel, and endure.
When I became a mother, that understanding naturally shaped the choices I made for my baby.
My son was born in the New Zealand summer, on a cloudy day, and I prepared all 100% cotton clothing for him — believing it would be gentle and comfortable enough.
But during our first day at the birth centre, he remained unsettled.
A nurse checked his temperature and found that he was cold, even with multiple cotton layers.
After two days at the birth centre, we returned home, and I bought Merino clothing and socks for him. The change was immediate — he became calm and settled. From that moment on, Merino became a daily essential in our home.
With my background, I knew exactly how well-made garments should perform. But I still couldn’t find Merino socks for babies that met the standards I believed were necessary:
super soft, durable, anti-pilling, seamless, easy to machine-wash, and visually refined.
That was when the idea of creating my own brand took shape. This became Jodo Nest — named after my son’s nickname, Jodo.
A brand built from real experience and intentional design, created to offer everyday essentials that are gentle, durable, and quietly stylish.
